Heart to heart EmRiver There is an awakening Wide open our hearts Heart to heart Our love will shine Into our centre shines the light Into our very core Heart to heart Our love will shine

Wild woman dreams EmRiver She’s the mother, she’s the child She’s the weaver of all things wild Speaks the language of the trees And paints the fabric of our dreams A burst of stardust magic, With earth in every breath Hair of vines entwining, A fiery dragon’s nest Beneath her lashes glows a fire Of molten warmth and sweet desire She moves like water, wild, windswept, Like whispers blown from witchy breath She’s the mother, she’s the child… Curling like a shell with magic in its turns Unfurling like the fronds of a tender green fern She dances, she imagines, She creates and she dreams Colours bright and swirling With pohutukawa seams She hears the laughter of the wind She calls the cry of forest kin Feels the pulse of fairy wings She chants the song of wild things. Her heart is wide, warm, and giving She sprinkles gold by lovingly living A playful glint of mischief in her eye She turns plain dirt into sunset sky She’s the mother, she’s the child She’s the weaver of all things wild Speaks the language of the trees And paints the fabric of our dreams

Brightly 04:14
Brightly EmRiver May you always stand tall in the light of the sun, Shine brightly, brightly. May your heart be strong when the dark night has come, Shine brightly, brightly. May you walk in the power of your own love, May you sing with the birds who soar above. May you dance to the beat of your own drum, Always remember who you are, And where you come from. Shine brightly, brightly. Shine brightly. May you always be sure in the face of the storm, Shine brightly, brightly. May you stoke your inner fire, Keep it bright, keep it warm, Shine brightly, brightly. May you walk in the power of your own love, May you sing with the birds who soar above. May you dance to the beat of your own drum, Always remember who you are, And where you come from. Shine brightly, brightly. Shine brightly. Shine brightly, Shine brightly.

Love inspired EmRiver Hear the calling is to stop and listen, Feel the impulse is to be aware. Know the gift of intricate connection, Depth of meaning, open hearts to share Ooh inside there, love inspired, Ooh insight burst into fire. Ooh inside there, love inspired, Ooh incite desire. It’s time to honour the ancient heart song, Time to gather the sacred seeds. It’s time to follow the ways of wisdom, Align our hearts with the tribal beat. Ooh inside there, love inspired… Awaken now, awaken, We arise in love. Awaken now, awaken, Realise our power. Awaken now, awaken, We arise in love. Ooh inside there, love inspired…

Coexist 04:28
Coexist EmRiver We gotta learn how to coexist, We gotta learn how to pull down the walls, We gotta learn how to break through the barriers that separate and alienate us. People, of this great whole we’re each a part, We want the freedom to simply do what’s on our hearts. Come on, let’s treat each other right, whether we’re black, yellow, or white We gotta give respect to one another cause we’re all sisters and brothers. Oh yeah. We gotta learn how to coexist… People, what we want is just the same. We want true peace - let’s stop trying to find somebody to blame. Come on, let's treat each other right… We gotta learn how to coexist We gotta learn how to pull down the walls, We gotta learn how to break through the barriers that separate and alienate us.

As it must be EmRiver Don't be afraid; you are strong. All is as it must be. Don't be afraid; you are strong. All is as it must be.

Wings spread 04:23
Wings spread EmRiver Rise up, wings spread From ash of dead Rise up, my soul, There’s a lot ahead So much to gain Through depth of pain Rise up, my soul, Grow wings again. Don’t be dismayed By fire on your way Surrender, my soul, And be filled with faith. Rise up, wings spread From ash of dead Rise up, my soul, There’s a lot ahead So much to gain Through depth of pain Rise up, my soul, Grow wings again. The fire only comes To lay gifts at your feet The end of the old A new beginning Oh the end brings a new beginning The fire only comes to lay gifts at your feet Rise up, wings spread From ash of dead Rise up, my soul, There’s a lot ahead So much to gain Through depth of pain Rise up, my soul, Grow wings again.

High in the sky EmRiver High in the sky we spread our wings High in the sky we're soaring High in the sky we spread our wings Light dancing on our feathers, Sun shining in our souls

I Know You Care A Whole Lot EmRiver I know you care a whole lot I know you’d do anything I know you care a whole awful lot And that’s a really good beginning. Unless somebody just like you cares a whole awful lot Nothing is going to get better, oh no, it’s not. He waka eke noa I know you care a whole lot I know you’d do anything I know you care a whole awful lot And that’s a really good beginning. Because somebody just like you cares a whole awful lot Now things are going to get better, Let’s grow that thought. He waka eke noa We’re all in this together I know you care a whole lot I know you’d do anything I know you care a whole awful lot And that’s a really good beginning.

about

A friend let me take care of his homemade ngoni (African hunter's harp) right when I was going through the most difficult time of my life, a time of deep grief and exhaustion after losing my dear husband to suicide. The soothing tone and simple tuning of this beautiful instrument brought songs of the heart out of me that sustained me and helped me find the courage to keep going. I am motivated to share these with others because of what they meant to me, that they might encourage you in a similar way. From my heart to yours, I invite you to sit back, close your eyes, and join me on this journey of the heart.

Here you can see a music video made by Patrick Bellett of me singing Heart to Heart by the shores of the beautiful Lake Rotoiti: www.youtube.com/watch?v=HMIJ73DbO6g&lc=UgyHIxxO3uU2Clyd2l54AaABAg
